Nicolas Raskin spared Rangers further humiliation as Clinton Nsiala and others struggled defensively during their 2-2 draw against St. Mirren on Saturday.
Rangers headed to Paisley looking for some form of consolation shortly after Celtic sealed the Premiership title with a commanding 5-0 win over Dundee United on 26 April.
Although Barry Ferguson’s side started sluggishly, they managed to break the deadlock in the 42nd minute when Cyriel Dessers found the net following a Raskin assist.
Their lead was short-lived, however, as Mark O’Hara equalised for St. Mirren just two minutes later after Nsiala failed to deal with a long throw-in.
Raskin restored Rangers’ advantage early in the second half, but defensive lapses again cost them as they conceded later on.

Defensive collapse undermines Ferguson’s tactics
Raskin was by far the brightest spark for Rangers, playing a key role in both goals, with Dessers also putting in a solid performance.
However, several players underperformed, leaving fans disappointed.
Kelly and the trio of centre-backs were particularly poor, with Nsiala notably at fault for St. Mirren’s first goal after mishandling a long throw-in.
Kelly also drew criticism for gifting possession to the opposition during a dangerous moment.
Rangers fans will be counting down the days until this turbulent season is finally over.
