Rangers have officially announced they will be switching to Umbro kits starting next season.

The club’s chief executive, Patrick Stewart, revealed the news during a fan forum event held at Edmiston House on Wednesday evening. The change will see Umbro become Rangers’ official kit supplier for the 2025/26 season, signaling a new direction in the club’s commercial approach.

Rangers had joined forces with Castore ahead of the 2020/21 campaign, marking Castore’s first significant step into top-tier football. The partnership was a major milestone for the brand, with Rangers playing a central role in helping them break into the high-performance sportswear market.

While the collaboration brought financial benefits and helped expand the club’s merchandise reach globally, there were recurring complaints from supporters about product quality and limited availability, particularly during the early stages of the deal.

This kit change comes as Castore announces it has acquired the exclusive Pro Team Sports Licence for Umbro in the UK, Ireland, and several key global markets.

With this new licensing agreement, Castore will still be involved behind the scenes, producing and distributing Umbro’s high-performance kits. Essentially, Rangers will remain within the Castore supply chain — but the shirts will now bear Umbro’s iconic double diamond logo.

Umbro has a rich history with Rangers, having previously supplied kits during some of the club’s most iconic moments, including their memorable 2008 UEFA Cup Final run and various league title wins before the financial troubles of 2012.
